Cruïlles is a village placed at the heart of Baix Empordà at 15 km of Costa Brava and at about 30 km of Girona. The capital of this county is Bisbal de l'Empordà, at 3 km of Mas Masaller, in which the artisan masters keep alive the tradition of artisan elaboration of ceramics. The history and evolution of this ceramics tradition is captured in the Terracota- Ceramics Museum.
The streets of the ancient city area bring us to Major square, an ancient parade ground of the Episcopal castle. This building is considered one of the most relevant works of the Catalan civil romantic art and it was built in the second half of 11th century.
Other places of interest nearby are Figueres, known universally to accommodate the Theatre-Museum of Dali, one of the museums that receives more visitors from the whole Spain and in which a great part of the painter works are collected. The House-Museum Gala-Dali placed in Púbol, the Iberia ruins of Ullastret, the Greek-Roman ruins of Empúries and a large number of villages that preserve their Middle Age physiognomy make of Emporda a rich area in history and culture.
